At the foothills of the Witteberg mountains, surrounded by mountains and a poplar forest you will find Mosamane Guest Farm. Mosamane is an eco-friendly, self-catering lodge a mere 6km from Rosendal (in Ficksburg’s direction) on the R70. Electricity is powered by solar energy and gas geysers and water is supplied from our mountain spring.

In 2003 the barn was renovated and turned into 2 bedroomed hikers lodge and in 2013 it was converted into a 5 bedroomed lodge (all en-suite) and can accommodate 17 people. All bedrooms and communal living areas are fitted with fire places. Fire wood can be provided at an additional cost.

Activities on Mosamane include hiking (9km and 3km), mountain biking and bird watching. If you don’t feel like a long hike then you can just stroll along the car tracks and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature on Mosamane… Our rolling Montana grasslands, mountain fynbos, kloof forests, mini canyon and sandstone cliffs are quite spectacular. Come and explore our 5 Star rated 9km hiking trail with features like Goliaths shower, the Owls Eyes, Slit Rock, the Jacuzzi… to name a few.

But if your main drive for a week or weekend away from the city is to just relax, then a nice glass of wine on the veranda while you watch the most spectacular sunsets, will be just what the doctor ordered!
